These clinics give established patients access to timely care without placing extra load on regular GP schedules.
Swift Clinics are for existing patients only and are designed to address a single, acute health issue. Each clinic is staffed by a Registered Nurse and a Swift Clinic GP who attends on a roster basis. Notes from your appointment are always added to your file so your usual GP can review them later.
How Swift Clinic GPs Newcastle Appointments Work
Eligibility: Swift Clinics are only available to patients already registered with a GP who works from Mayfield Medical Connection.
Booking: Call (02) 4968 2157 from 3PM the day before to book. Appointments cannot be made online.
Format: A Registered Nurse will see you first. The Swift Clinic GP will then review your concern and provide care.
Scope: Appointments are limited to one acute concern such as infections, injuries, sudden pain, urgent scripts that cannot wait three days, or minor illness.
Billing: This is a premium service. All Swift Clinic appointments are privately billed at the full fee. No concessions are available.
Repeat Prescriptions and Referrals
If you only need a routine repeat script or referral, a Swift Clinic is not required. These can be requested from your usual GP through the Book Now button on our website or via the AMS Connect App.
